At the end of 2021, we started negotiations with window and door manufacturer Viking Windows on a new potential robotic solution. Namely, the customer wanted to upgrade the painting part of an already existing line and add additional automated robotic functions.
The aim was to create a painting area for two robots that use a scanner to detect and paint the product. The entire line was to be operated by a single person. Two painting robots from the manufacturer CMA, marked GR6100E, were used.
The robots were once again equipped with a GRACO colour change system for six colours, powered by GRACO Merkur colour pumps.
To make it easier to hang larger and heavier products on the conveyor, a "Drop Section" with a lifting capacity of up to 200kg was installed.
For the automatic cleaning of products, we installed ionizers with rotor heads and dust static dischargers. cleaning unit, with a working height of 2.8 m and a working width selectable up to 250 mm. The start and stop of the machine is automated by means of a moving boom detection.
