What the inspection kit measures

Climate and dew point

The Elcometer 319 measures air and surface temperature, relative humidity and the dew point spread — confirming that conditions are suitable for coating.

Surface profile

The Elcometer 224 measures the profile (roughness) of the blasted surface, which determines coating adhesion.

Dry film thickness

The Elcometer 456 measures the thickness of the finished coating — the basis of quality control and compliance with standards.

Ferrous measures coating thickness on ferrous metals only. FNF measures on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals (e.g. aluminium) — the more versatile choice.
