Cyclic corrosion test chambers

Cyclic Corrosion Test Chambers (CCTs) are designed to provide the precise environmental test conditions required by modern industry. Their reliability, ease of use and rugged design have led to them being used worldwide in all major sectors from automotive to paint, plastics, packaging, electronics, aerospace, military and offshore.

Strong and reliable

With a clean and functional design, the CCT booths are made of high quality materials specially selected for this application. The entire construction is corrosion resistant. The specially manufactured glass is reinforced polyester material with high chemical and temperature resistance. The cabinets have an ergonomically designed control panel. Depending on the application requirements, Apex lids are available in different composite materials and supported by gas springs.

Modes of operation

The CCT cabinet offers a full range of environmental test conditions, including:

• Conventional salt spray / salt spray
• Residential and ramp functions
• High humidity, 98% RH, at constant or cyclical temperatures
• Air purification cycles
• Forced air drying
• Dry heat - ambient temperature up to 70°C
• Ambient temperature up to 55°C +/- 1°C.

With its user-friendly program logic controller, you can select any of these conditions, or any combination of them, to program in any order and for any given time. The CCT cabinet can also be used as a single mode as follows: cyclic Prohesion® cabinet, CASS cabinet, conventional salt spray/brine cabinet, humidity cabinet.

Optimal work

Effective corrosion testing requires rapid switching between test modes with minimal variation. In CCT instruments, these criteria provide many features such as dry/humid air and protection against overheating and low water. The sophisticated nozzle ensures uniform distribution of the salt spray and accurate collection rates throughout the chamber. Filling and sterilisation are easily accessible to prevent excessive growth of algae. CCT chambers are equipped with a digital display for fully adjustable water temperature control and a low level alarm system is available if required.

Precise control

The chambers are designed to make it easier to work. All units are equipped with a microprocessor controller that can accommodate up to 7 programs with unlimited event logging. Quick program selection and the ability to create new programs to meet specific needs gives the operator complete control. A program run cycle counter indicates the end of testing. The ability to monitor cycles, events and functions is made possible by a comprehensive suite of control and display functions. Control of the brine flow rate is highly accurate with a variable speed, heavy duty peristaltic pump and flow meter. This ensures accurate collection rates and eliminates nozzle clogging.
