Cold glue equipment

Cold glue delivery units and pumps for PVAc and dispersion glue: Graco DynaMite, Check-Mate, Dura-Flo and electric E-Flo SP. Selection, installation and service from the official Graco distributor.

What is a cold glue delivery unit?

A cold glue delivery unit (also called a cold glue supply system or cold glue pump unit) is a pump connected to the glue container that delivers single-component, room-temperature adhesive – such as PVAc, dispersion glue or contact adhesive – at steady pressure and flow straight to the point of application: a hand gun, dispense valve, glue roller or an automatic line applicator. Unlike hot melt, cold glue needs no melting, so there are no heaters and no warm-up time.

Elister is the official Graco distributor in Estonia and supplies, installs and services Graco cold glue pumps and delivery units for the wood, furniture, paper and packaging industries.

How a cold glue delivery unit works

  • Container: glue is drawn directly from the original package – cartridge, pail or drum. On larger containers a follower plate pushes the material into the pump and empties the container almost completely.
  • Pump: a pneumatic (air-driven) or electric piston pump keeps the glue line at stable pressure, even over long hose runs.
  • Distribution: one pump can feed several workstations, dispensing stations or proportioners.
  • Application: hand gun (e.g. Graco Flo-Gun), automatic valve or glue roller.

Technical data by model

Graco DynaMite – compact delivery unit for small containers

  • Containers: from 300 cc cartridges up to 1-gallon (~4.5 l) containers
  • Drive: Graco NXT air motor (pneumatic)
  • Best for: workshops, edge gluing, profiles, small glue volumes

Graco Check-Mate – pump and supply system for pails and drums

  • Material: medium to high viscosity one-component adhesives, sealants and fillers
  • Containers: pails and drums; available as a stand-alone pump or as a supply system with follower plate
  • Construction: carbon steel or stainless steel (stainless models for waterborne glues)
  • Drive: pneumatic air motor

Graco Dura-Flo – high pressure with stable flow

  • Containers: 5–20 l pail or drum up to 200 l
  • Material: medium to high viscosity glues (PVAc, contact adhesives)
  • Drive: pneumatic; high pressure without compromising flow stability – suits lines with long hose runs

Graco Dura-Flo cold glue pump →

Graco E-Flo SP – electric supply pump

  • Drive: electric motor – no compressed air required
  • Control: precise pressure and flow control, real-time performance data
  • Best for: automated production lines where process control and data matter

Graco E-Flo SP electric cold glue pump →

Graco T2 – 2:1 transfer pump for 200 l drums

  • 2:1 pressure ratio; PTFE seals, stainless steel wetted parts
  • Container: standard 200-litre drum, quick-release adapter
  • Best for: feeding viscous two-component materials (e.g. Graco Reactor)

How to choose a cold glue pump

  • Glue volume and package: cartridge or small can → DynaMite; pail or drum → Check-Mate or Dura-Flo; high continuous demand → drum system with follower plate.
  • Viscosity: the thicker the glue, the more pressure and the larger the pump required.
  • Waterborne glue: choose a model with stainless steel wetted parts.
  • Hose length and number of workstations: long lines or several stations need higher pressure (Dura-Flo, Check-Mate).
  • Air or electric: if compressed air is limited or you want process data, choose the electric E-Flo SP.

Applications

If you need melted adhesive, see hot melt gluing equipment. For precise metering of two-component adhesives and sealants, see sealant and adhesive dispensing. All gluing solutions are listed under gluing equipment.

Common questions about this product.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cold glue delivery unit?
A pump connected to the glue container that delivers room-temperature single-component glue (e.g. PVAc) at steady pressure straight to a gun, valve or glue roller. No melting or heating is required.
What is the difference between cold glue and hot melt?
Cold glue (e.g. PVAc, dispersion or contact adhesive) is applied at room temperature and cures as water or solvent leaves it. Hot melt is melted before application and sets as it cools. A cold glue unit has no heaters and no warm-up time.
Which Graco cold glue pump should I choose?
DynaMite for small volumes and cartridges, Check-Mate or Dura-Flo for supply from pails and drums, and E-Flo SP for electric control and process data. The choice depends on glue viscosity, container, hose length and number of workstations.
Can a cold glue pump handle waterborne PVAc glue?
Yes. For waterborne glues we recommend models with stainless steel wetted parts – Check-Mate, for example, is available in a stainless steel version.
Can one pump feed several workstations?
Yes. Check-Mate and Dura-Flo hold stable pressure over long hose runs and can feed several dispensing stations, glue rollers or proportioners.
Which containers can glue be pumped from directly?
DynaMite works from 300 cc cartridges up to ~4.5 l containers, Dura-Flo from 5–20 l pails and drums up to 200 l, and Check-Mate from pails and drums (including follower plate systems).
Pneumatic or electric cold glue pump?
A pneumatic pump (DynaMite, Check-Mate, Dura-Flo) is simple and reliable where compressed air is available. The electric E-Flo SP needs no compressed air, controls pressure and flow more precisely and provides real-time performance data.
Does Elister install and service cold glue equipment?
Yes. Elister is the official Graco distributor in Estonia: we advise on selection, supply, install, commission and service cold glue delivery units and provide spare parts.
