Welding hall ventilation solution with smart remote management
We built a push-pull general ventilation system for the welding hall with two separately controlled zones, ensuring a total air circulation of up to 60,000 m³/h (the requirement was ≥45,000 m³/h) and over 10,000 m³/h of fresh air. We installed two GRAM 364DH double cyclones with 45 kW fans and a C.I.C Jan Hrebec plate heat exchanger with water heating, which reduces heating demand. Compliance of air quality with health protection limit values was confirmed by measurements carried out together with the Health Board, and the entire system is controlled by a single control panel with real-time remote management.


The project challenge
Due to the size of the hall and the constant movement of products by crane, the ventilation had to be designed on the principle of circular airflow, ensuring a minimum air exchange of at least 45,000 m³/h. The tender set a clear condition that the indoor climate must comply with health protection limit values, and this had to be demonstrated through air sample measurements carried out together with the Health Board.

How we built the solution
The welding hall ventilation was solved with a push-pull system, which is suitable for large spaces with constant crane movement. The space was divided into two zones that can be controlled separately from a single control panel, and a plate heat exchanger with water heating was used for supplying fresh air, which improves the indoor climate and keeps the working environment warm during the cold season. GRAM ACF364 cyclone filters separate heavier dust and residue from the airflow already in the first stage of filtration, directing it straight into a 70 L collection bin.

Automation and remote management
The operation of all devices – double cyclones, fans and the plate heat exchanger – is consolidated on a single control panel, from which both zones can be monitored and configured separately. A dedicated remote management solution was created for the system, enabling real-time monitoring and sending automatic notifications about filter saturation, faults and alarms even when away.

The result
The system ensures a total air circulation of up to 60,000 m³/h, complemented by over 10,000 m³/h of industrial ventilation to provide fresh air. Thanks to the complete ventilation and filtration solution, the working environment has improved considerably, and compliance of air quality with health protection limit values was confirmed through measurements carried out together with the Health Board.

Push-Pull welding ventilation for a metal production hall in Saue
At a metalworking company's production hall in Saue, we solved the blue welding fume problem using the Push-Pull method, as the use of welding arms was not possible due to the large components and continuous crane operation. We installed an FL series filter with GRAM welding cartridges, prepared a 3D piping installation drawing, and carried out the installation. Complete ventilation solution for a welding workshop in Saue
For Sami AS's new powder-coating production hall in Saue, we established a complete welding ventilation system: push-pull systems for a manual welding area with 30 workstations, customised ventilation hoods for a robotic welding area with 6+1 positions, and a solution for 4 local extraction workstations. The systems start up automatically according to the workload and switch off when welding is completed, ensuring clean, fume-free air and significant energy savings.
