Central dust extraction for fiberglass production in Harju County

Elister solved the dust extraction problem of a fiberglass manufacturer, where each unit operated with a separate filter unit and failed to ensure a clean working environment. All units were connected to a single GRAM ACF type centralised filter unit with automation and pressure control. The result is a clean working environment and efficient extraction, whereby the system was designed with reserve capacity to add work surfaces and equipment if needed.

Central dust extraction for fiberglass production in Harju County

Project challenge

Before the upgrade, dust extraction was arranged so that each machine had its own separate filter unit. This solution could not ensure a fully clean working environment. With each new workbench added, the required extraction became increasingly inadequate.

How we built it

We created a centralised system with automation and pressure control within the production unit. All machines were connected to a single high-capacity filter unit, which was designed with a certain reserve so that additional work surfaces and equipment could be added when needed.

  • GRAM ACF type centralised filter unit
  • Automation and pressure control
  • All production equipment connected to a single system
  • Reserve for adding work surfaces and equipment in the future

What we achieved

  • A clean working environment throughout the production facility
  • Efficient and consistent extraction from all machines
  • A system designed with sufficient reserve, allowing equipment and work surfaces to be added in the future without rebuilding the dust extraction again

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which filter unit did Elister use in this project?
We used a GRAM ACF type central filter unit to which all production equipment was connected. The system also includes automation and pressure control.
Does the system allow adding more equipment in the future?
Yes, the system was designed with sufficient reserve capacity to add work surfaces and equipment when needed. This allows expansion without rebuilding the dust extraction system.
What was the situation before the upgrade?
Before the upgrade, each machine had its own separate filter unit, which could not ensure a fully clean work environment. With every new workbench added, the extraction became increasingly inadequate.
What results did the solution deliver to the production?
The solution ensured a clean work environment throughout production and efficient, uniform extraction from all machines. The system was designed with reserve capacity for future expansion.
Were all machines connected to a single system?
Yes, all production equipment was connected to one capable filter unit forming a central system. The system includes automation and pressure control.
