Woodman spraying automat energy-efficient compensating ventilation
At the Woodman wood processing production facility, we installed an energy-efficient compensating ventilation system for a traverse-equipped automated spraying unit. The solution reuses the energy from the exhaust air of the finishing machine by means of a plate heat exchanger and water-based heating, and pumps the heated clean air back into production. A room pressure sensor keeps the environment in balance by compensating for the vacuum created by the spraying unit. As solvent-based finishing materials are used, the equipment is ATEX-certified.

Project challenge
The automatic spray machine creates a vacuum in the production room, which must be compensated with fresh air while maintaining the pressure balance of the plant environment. Since solvent-based finishing materials are used, the entire equipment had to comply with explosion safety requirements.
How we built the solution
The solution utilises the thermal energy of the air exhausted from the automatic spray machine and directs the heated clean air back into production. The system keeps the plant environment in balance and ensures that the vacuum created by the automatic spray machine is compensated.
- plate heat exchanger for recovering heat from the exhaust air
- water heating supplementary heating for the clean supply air
- room pressure sensor for monitoring the environmental balance
- ATEX-certified equipment due to solvent-based materials
Automation
The room pressure sensor controls the system automatically, continuously monitoring the pressure of the production room and compensating for the vacuum created by the automatic spray machine using the installed equipment.
Result
Woodman received energy-efficient compensating ventilation for the automatic spray machine with traverses, which recovers the heat from the exhaust air and keeps the production room's pressure in balance. The solution ensures a safe and balanced environment under faster finishing conditions.

Factory Vacuum Compensation with Ventilation Unit
We installed a water-heated ventilation unit together with control automation and a water node at the factory of window manufacturer Viljandi Aken ja Uks to compensate for the air extracted by various equipment. The system ensures air exchange at a volume of 20 000 m³/h, filters the supply air with filtration grade M5, and heats the air to a level suitable for the indoor climate.
Ventilation of the press room in the production facility
For the press room of Tarmeko LPD's new production building, we prepared the ventilation design and working drawings, supplied the equipment, and carried out the installation. Forming with the presses generates fumes, which is why we built a solution where odours are extracted from above each machine and compensated with fresh, clean air. The result is an improved working environment and more comfortable working conditions.
Production facility heating solution with Metmann air curtains
The heating system at Nordwood's production facility was upgraded with three Metmann water-heated industrial air curtains. The units circulate air within the space at up to 25,000 m³/h, ensuring uniform heat and reducing the inflow of cold air through continuously open doors. The solution improved working conditions and also reduced energy consumption.
