The Elcometer 480 gloss meter enables fast and accurate measurement and recording of Gloss, % Reflectance and Haze values on a wide range of materials, including paints, plastics, ceramics and metals. This small, durable and ergonomic handheld instrument is suitable for both industrial finish inspection and, for example, testing gloss surfaces

on cars, yachts and household appliances. Available as a simple entry-level model (Model B) and full-featured single-, dual- or triple-angle versions (Model T).

Which materials is the Elcometer 480 gloss meter suitable for?
The device is suitable for many materials, including paints, plastics, ceramics and metals. It can be used both for industrial finish inspection and for testing glossy surfaces of cars, yachts and household appliances.
What measuring angles and measuring ranges are available?
Measurement angles of 20°, 60° and 85° are available depending on the model. The measurement ranges are 20°: 0–2000 GU, 60°: 0–1000 GU and 85°: 0–160 GU.
The Model B and Model T versions differ in several key aspects. Please refer to the specifications below to determine which configuration best suits your requirements.
Model B is a simple entry-level model, while Model T is a fully featured single-, dual- or triple-angle version. In addition, Model T offers automatic calibration via RFID tagging as well as ElcoMaster® software and a USB cable.
How is the device calibrated?
For the Model T, calibration is performed automatically using the RFID tagging of the integrated calibration plate. The set includes an integrated calibration plate as well as calibration certificates for the device and the calibration plate.
What are the device's power supply options and operating temperature?
The device can be powered via USB from a computer or with 2x AA batteries, providing approximately 50,000 readings. The operating temperature is -10 °C to 50 °C and the relative humidity 0–85% RH.
