Coatmaster coating thickness gauges – wet film and powder coating measurement

Coatmaster specialises in coating thickness measurement in situations where conventional devices do not work – for example, when the paint is still wet or the powder coating has not yet cured in the baking oven.

Wet film measurement allows the thickness of a fresh paint or lacquer layer to be checked immediately after application, before drying. This is particularly important on production lines, where early detection of a problem prevents the recoating of an entire product batch.

Powder coating measurement before the baking oven is one of Coatmaster's main areas of application. Electrostatically sprayed powder is still loose powder before entering the oven, which conventional contact gauges cannot measure. Coatmaster uses a non-contact measurement principle that accurately determines the powder layer thickness even before baking – this enables corrections to be made before an incorrect thickness has cured and the part has to be reworked.

Coatmaster devices are actively used:
