Welding Ventilation Upgrade for Robotic and Manual Welding Areas
We upgraded the welding ventilation at the production facility of Lisako, a manufacturer of forestry transport trailers. We installed full-coverage extraction hoods over the robot work areas and added pressure control that activates extraction only during welding, saving energy. The inefficient Push-Pull system was thoroughly rebuilt by redesigning the incorrectly calculated ductwork, as a result of which the system began to operate properly.

The project challenge
The client's existing Push-Pull ventilation system was ineffective and failed to clean the workshop air, despite the system being in place. The robot work areas lacked extraction entirely, resulting in a decline in the quality of the working environment. The objective was to optimise the existing system and ensure effective smoke removal.
How we built it
In the robot work areas, we installed dedicated full-coverage hoods that completely cover the operating robot area and ensure effective removal of welding fumes. Since cantilever cranes are actively used in operations, it was not possible to use lamellae or curtains at the hoods – the solution therefore had to be designed so as not to restrict lifting work. In addition, we thoroughly rebuilt the existing Push-Pull system, including redesigning the incorrectly calculated ductwork. We equipped the robot system with pressure control, which activates extraction only when the robots are working – thus saving energy without losing efficiency.

What we achieved
Following the redesign of the ductwork, the Push-Pull system began to operate properly and the workshop air is cleaned effectively Welding fumes are removed in the robot work areas by means of full-coverage hoods Significantly improved quality of the welding environment and occupational safety Energy savings thanks to demand-based extraction that operates only during welding

Welding hall ventilation solution with smart remote management
We built a push-pull general ventilation system for the welding hall with two separately controlled zones, ensuring a total air circulation of up to 60,000 m³/h (the requirement was ≥45,000 m³/h) and over 10,000 m³/h of fresh air. We installed two GRAM 364DH double cyclones with 45 kW fans and a C.I.C Jan Hrebec plate heat exchanger with water heating, which reduces heating demand. Compliance of air quality with health protection limit values was confirmed by measurements carried out together with the Health Board, and the entire system is controlled by a single control panel with real-time remote management.
Push-Pull welding ventilation for a metal production hall in Saue
At a metalworking company's production hall in Saue, we solved the blue welding fume problem using the Push-Pull method, as the use of welding arms was not possible due to the large components and continuous crane operation. We installed an FL series filter with GRAM welding cartridges, prepared a 3D piping installation drawing, and carried out the installation. The filtered air is directed into the hall from floor level, and the welding fumes are extracted from above the workstation, beneath the ceiling.
Factory Welding Workshop Push-Pull Ventilation
We upgraded the ventilation of the manual welding stations at Sami Tootmine's Valga factory in two areas, each with 10 workstations. We installed cyclone filters together with fans from the Danish manufacturer Gram Clean Air and designed a push-pull ventilation system with air calculations. We integrated automation that activates the filter system only when welding is actually taking place, ensuring energy savings and a clean working environment. In addition, we helped find a suitable welding filter for the robotic welding area.
