Powder Coating Automatic Line with Power&Free Conveyor
For Sami AS, for whom we built a two-chamber liquid painting line in 2020, we established an automatic powder coating line as part of a production expansion. The solution includes a Power&Free conveyor and a tunnel-type washing automatic line that enables production analysis and future expansion. The equipment is sourced from reliable manufacturers Gema AG, Aabo-Ideal and Hjort-Conveyor.
Project Challenge
The client needed a technical solution that would allow painting of specified volumes and that would be modern and enable production analysis. In addition, the solution had to be a future-proof investment.
The main requirements of the assignment:

- a multifunctional conveyor system with expansion capability
- be a worthwhile investment even years later
How We Built the Solution
The solution consists of an automatic powder coating line with a tunnel-type washer and a Power&Free conveyor system, which enables future production expansion. We used equipment from reliable manufacturers, forming a complete and proven package.

- ovens and washing tunnel – Aabo-Ideal (Denmark)
- conveyor – Hjort-Conveyor (Sweden)
Result
Along with its production expansion, Sami AS received a powerful automatic powder coating line designed to last for decades. The same reliable package now operates in seven different companies, which confirms the reliability and future-proof nature of the solution.

"Power&Free" conveyor fully automatic powder coating line
A modern powder coating line was designed and installed for Torm Metall OÜ, enabling the washing and coating of products with dimensions of 4500 x 1000 x 1800 mm. The solution included a chamber-based 7-stage washing line with separate cabins for ferrous metal and aluminium, a combi oven, and a fully automatic "Power&Free" conveyor system. In the combi oven, the residual temperature of the curing oven is utilised in the drying oven, which increases energy efficiency.
Investment in a New Automated Powder Coating Line
We designed and installed a fully automatic powder coating line for Tammer, complete with an Aabo-Ideal gas- and electric-heated curing oven and a Gema paint booth operating 16 automatic guns. The monorail conveyor has a load capacity of 100 kg per metre. In addition, we built out the compressed air and ventilation lines. The entire installation was completed in May 2023, having started already before Midsummer.
Automated powder coating line in the modernization project of the Sami Valga factory
We designed and installed a new automated powder coating line at Sami Tootmine's Valga factory as part of a modernisation project worth nearly 9 million euros. The line eliminated a previous production bottleneck, enabling the pre-washing and painting of large-format products as well. The heat recovery solution recovered 35–40 MW of waste heat within just a few months, which is used to heat the production building and welding halls. This is already the third coating line installed at Sami's factories.
