Heat recovery ventilation for paint hall in Karksi
For the timber workshop's new production building, we designed and installed a ventilation system based on a plate heat exchanger with automatic pressure control. The system recovers thermal energy generated during the painting process, compensates for vacuum, and removes moisture originating from the autoclave. Thanks to this solution, the company can continue using its existing boiler without the heat load exceeding the boiler's capacity.


Project Challenge
One of the company's paint lines was located in the new building, and the objective was multifaceted. It was necessary to utilise the heat energy generated during the painting process, compensate for the resulting vacuum, and remove the significant moisture associated with the use of an autoclave. All of this had to be resolved in such a way that the existing heat source would remain sufficient.
How We Built the Solution
We installed an efficient plate heat exchanger-based ventilation system equipped with automatic pressure control and regulation. The system was programmed to adapt between different operating modes according to need.

Automation
The system operates fully automatically without additional operator intervention. Depending on need, it either supports the operation of the paint line or controls the room humidity.

Thanks to this innovation, the company can continue to use its existing heat source, i.e. the boiler, without the required heat load exceeding the boiler's capacity. This is a major step forward in terms of both productivity and sustainability.

We developed a centralised heat recovery solution for the AS Viljandi Aken ja Uks factory, which directs the waste heat from four compressors to heat the ventilation units. The system includes control automation and heat meters for monitoring energy quantities. The installation produces 2 MW of thermal energy per day for the customer, reducing energy waste and improving the working environment.
