Paint robot and automatic color change for the finishing line
We replaced the conveyor system of the finishing line at window manufacturer Viking Window and, in cooperation with OMD OÜ, installed a capable painting robot on the paint line as part of a procurement. The robot ensures higher productivity and more consistent quality. In addition, an automatic colour changeover system was created, which allows a new colour shade to be prepared while the robot is operating and the shade to be changed instantly.

Project challenge
Viking Window needed a solution for the finishing line at its Mäo facility that would provide support to painters and enable higher productivity and more consistent quality. Another challenge was accelerating colour changes without stopping production.
How we built it
We started by replacing the conveyor system, which was, as planned, the first step towards more automated finishing. Then, in cooperation with OMD OÜ as part of a won tender, we installed a painting robot at the painting line to provide support to the finishers. In addition, we created an automatic colour-change system: while the robot is finishing products, a new colour shade can be prepared in the system, so that the transition from one shade to another happens in an instant.
- New conveyor system
- Capable painting robot
- Automatic colour-change system
What we achieved
- Higher productivity thanks to the automated painting robot
- More consistent finishing quality
- Instant colour change – the new shade is prepared while the robot is working, without stopping production
- Significantly faster and more flexible finishing process
- Support for painters with modern technology

Manual finishing booths with drying tunnel and pump cabinets
For a returning customer, we manufactured wider manual finishing booths with a drying tunnel as well as specialized pump cabinets for paint pumps, into which safety leak trays were integrated. The solution was designed as a 3D model according to the customer's requirements, and in addition to the booths and pump cabinets, we organized all partition walls, doors, and finishing technology. The result was a fast and seamless implementation and a satisfied customer who received exactly the solution they wanted.
Manual finishing department: two paint booths and a drying tunnel
We established a dedicated manual finishing department for a long-term client to produce custom orders. We installed two 3-metre-wide finishing booths, six finishing pumps, a drying tunnel, and in-house manufactured GRINO drying trolleys. To ensure worker safety, we added barriers and fast-opening doors that separate the finishing area from the rest of production. The new department operates flawlessly and successfully fulfils all custom orders.
Renovation of a Door Manufacturer's Finishing Workshop – MAKOR Automatic Line and Manual Finishing Booth
An automatic finishing solution, MAKOR SPRAY & DRY – M, was designed and installed for a Central Estonian door manufacturer, together with a manual finishing booth built by Elister. The heart of the finishing process consisted of GRACO PerformAA automatic paint guns with Merkur-series pumps, and the ventilation was interfaced directly with the Makor system, which detects the operating equipment and adjusts the working modes. The entire system was designed, installed and commissioned into working order precisely during the factory's collective holiday, resulting in an energy-efficient and safe finishing environment.
