UNIFOG humidification system for the school's woodworking department
We installed a UNIFOG humidification system in the wood processing technology department of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, covering a total of 7 zones of varying size and air exchange requirements. In the smallest room, approximately 2.4 m in height, we installed a fan-based atomizer instead of a piping system. For centralized system management, we set up a UNIFOG touchscreen that logs the temperature and humidity of each zone. In addition, we installed a water treatment unit with an iron filter.

The project challenge
Each room had a different air exchange requirement, which meant that a single standard solution could not be used. One of the more complex tasks turned out to be the smallest room, with a height of only approx. 2.4 m – there, a conventional pipe system would have allowed the droplets to fall too quickly.
How we built it
In the lowest room, instead of a pipe system, we installed a fan-assisted nozzle that carries the moisture further and prevents droplets from falling. To prepare the water, we added a water treatment unit with an iron filter to the building, where the water is mechanically purified and recirculated through membranes. For central management of the system, we set up a UNIFOG touchscreen, where the parameters of each zone are clearly readable and loggable.
- 7 zones of varying size and air exchange requirements
- Fan-assisted nozzle for a room approx. 2.4 m high
- Water treatment unit with an iron filter – mechanical purification in a filter with 5 mm density
- Water recirculation through membranes with movement of 0.0001–0.00001 mm, where ions and dissolved substances are removed
- The purified water is collected in a hydrophore and, after passing through a water softener, directed into use
- UNIFOG touchscreen for central management of the zones – each zone can be given its own name
What we achieved
- A reliable and centrally manageable humidification solution that accounts for the individual needs of each room
- Continuous logging of the temperature and humidity parameters of each zone
- Easy copying of data to a computer using a USB stick
- Preparation of clean water, which makes the system easy to monitor and maintain

Custom humidification system solution for outdoor storage
We expanded and adapted the previously installed air humidification system at the Barrus AS glulam plant for a new three-zone warehouse building. In each zone separated by curtains or doors, a stable and high humidity level of 80% RH is ensured, keeping wet sawn timber in optimal conditions before it is directed to the kiln. The piping is insulated and equipped with an automatic heating cable that activates automatically near the freezing point.
Tarmeko LPD new production building humidification system – old and new together
We installed a five-zone Unifog high-pressure humidification system in Tarmeko LPD's new production building, combining new solutions with equipment partially transferred from the old production facility. Both pipe-type and UFO-type humidification solutions are in use, and the entire system is controlled by a single touchscreen control centre with data logging. In addition, we equipped the press room with the necessary ventilation.
UNIFOG humidification system for glulam production
We installed a 1-zone UNIFOG humidification system in the production facilities of Timbeco Woodmill to ensure a consistent and optimal humidity level in the manufacturing of glulam. In addition, we installed a water softening system that keeps maintenance costs almost non-existent and ensures the long-term efficiency of the system. The system is expandable to the rest of the production facilities.
