New paint booth and energy-efficient drying room for the metal industry
We designed and built a completely new paint room ventilation solution for a metal industry client and upgraded the existing drying room. We used CIC Ex equipment and Konwektor fans suitable for explosive environments, and replaced the ventilation unit with a plate heat exchanger solution that improves heat recovery and reduces energy consumption. We added solvent sensors, compressed air meters, heat meters, and new automation with remote management capability. The result is a reliable, modern, and energy-efficient system that meets all applicable safety and working condition requirements.

The project challenge
The client's previous solution was technically and energetically inefficient: there was no heat exchanger, the ventilation equipment did not meet the requirements of the work processes, and the drying room did not reach the desired temperature. In addition, the air movement logic in the drying room was incorrect, and the exhaust walls of the paint room and the air exchange rate were not aligned with each other, which did not comply with the applicable standards.
How we built the solution
We built a new ventilation solution for the paint room using equipment suitable for explosive environments and completely upgraded the drying room's equipment. We replaced the ventilation unit with a plate heat exchanger solution, which significantly improves heat recovery and reduces energy consumption.

Filtration solution
At the exhaust we applied a double-filtration principle, along with separate filters to protect the supply air and the equipment. Multi-layer filtration ensures the reliability of the entire system, extends the equipment's service life, and reduces maintenance requirements.

Automation and remote management
We implemented a completely new automation solution for the system with remote management capability to provide real-time support and monitoring remotely as well. In both rooms we installed sensors and meters for precise monitoring and enhanced safety.
Solvent sensors and compressed air counters in both rooms for air-pollution-based and compressed-air-based control Heat meters for both the electrical and heating systems to monitor and log consumption Automation with remote management capability for real-time support and monitoring
The result
As a final result, the client received a reliable, modern, and energy-efficient system that meets all applicable safety and working condition requirements. Both the painting and the drying process now operate reliably and cost-effectively.

Ventilation solution for a metal finishing room for a 70 m paint room
We designed a new painting area ventilation system for a metal structures manufacturing company in Harju County, in a 70 m long paint room. We installed 9 exhaust walls with filters across three work sections, along with a spark-proof fan with an air exchange rate of 15,000 m³/h. The operator can control all three sections independently using control automation based on pneumatic dampers.
Liquid Coating Line for the New Factory in Saue
We designed a complete liquid painting line for the new production building of the machine-building company Sami AS. The solution included two paint booths with water-heated heat exchangers, providing air exchange of 10,000 m³/h per booth, a washing booth with a Husqvarna pressure washer, and a motorized monorail conveyor with a load capacity of 16,000 kg. The line was complemented by control automation with solvent sensors, a 2K electronic mixing dosing unit, and two GRACO electrostatic spray guns.
Modern Ex-rated paint booths for the factory
After the fire, we established two entirely new Ex-rated painting and drying rooms at the Konesko Koeru factory – one for large products with an air exchange rate of 15000 m³/h and another for smaller products with an air exchange rate of 10000 m³/h. The rooms were equipped with Ex lighting, drying controlled by solvent sensors, and a Power&Free conveyor system. The work was carried out in two stages without interrupting daily production, restoring and enhancing the client's production capacity.
