Scanola Baltic AS, best known as a producer of high-quality Olivia rapeseed oil, wanted to make better use of the residual heat generated during the refining process.
As the temperatures in the refinery are around 40+ degrees throughout the year, we decided to use a special plate heat exchanger with stainless steel interior and oil trap, depending on the requirements of the food industry. The fresh pre-heated air was directed into the unheated adjacent rooms, which thereby received additional ventilation and temperature control. The ventilation also allowed us to replace the hot 40°C air with fresh air of about 20°C. The air was then heated to a comfortable temperature. As high temperatures were used, the installed system is able to maintain the supply temperature at +20C even when the outside air is -21C.
At the customer's request, the installed system is connected to their in-house control system, which allows remote control and notification of various disturbances and anomalies.
