ATEX ventilation units for potentially explosive atmospheres

We are the official representative of the Czech manufacturer CIC in Estonia since 2007. CIC ventilation units are our main solution for companies in the painting, varnishing and chemical industries where flammable solvents, gases or dusts are handled. H and HL series units are available in full ATEX version (Ex-zone 1 and 2), compliant with Directive 2014/34/EU. In addition, we offer standard, moisture-proof, outdoor and hygienic versions - total air exchange from 2,000 to 100,000 m³/h.

Product series

  • H - ATEX assembly module (square section): Our basic solution for hazardous areas. Modular series for painting and varnishing rooms, chemical industry. Ex zone 1/2, full filtration (G4 to HEPA), heating, cooling and ZZT heat recovery. Airflow up to 100 000 m³/h.
  • HL - ATEX assembly module (rectangular section): Same ATEX performance as the H-Series, but with a flat profile - suitable for low ceiling spaces in workshops. Fans with AC and EC motors, energy-saving recuperation.
  • H-BLOCK - Compact Plug & Play unit: Ready-to-use unit for quick installation in smaller workshops and lacquering rooms. Includes ZZT heat exchanger, filter and heater - one day installation.
  • H-Uni - Integrated air conditioning: Full package drying + heat pump + recuperation in one housing. Suitable for swimming pools, wet rooms and energy saving installations.
  • H-Top - Roof mounted unit: Roof-mounted, with heat pump and axial fans. Operates from -15°C to +40°C. Suitable for industrial buildings where there is no space on the internal surface.
  • H-Pool - Swimming pool unit: Especially for rooms with high humidity - pools, saunas, spas. Integrated drying + heat pump + ZZT in one unit.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ATEX ventilation unit and when is it mandatory?

An ATEX unit is a device that complies with Directive 2014/34/EU and is certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (Ex 1 and 2). It is mandatory in painting, varnishing and chemical plants where the concentration of flammable substances in the air may exceed the safety limit. Elister has been supplying and installing CIC ATEX units in Estonia since 2007.

What is the difference between the H and HL series?

The H-series has a square cross-section - suitable for standard height rooms. HL series is a flat, rectangular cross-section - suitable for low-ceilinged spaces where H series will not fit. Both are available in ATEX version and offer identical functions: filtration, heating, cooling, ZZT recuperation.

What is the heat recovery efficiency (ZZT) of CIC units?

CIC H/HL series plate heat exchangers have a recuperation efficiency of up to 85-90%. This means that up to 90% of the heat in the outgoing air is transferred to heat the incoming fresh air - significantly reducing heating costs.

Can an ATEX unit be used under normal conditions?

Yes. An ATEX-certified unit is also suitable for normal environments - it is simply a unit with a higher safety standard. Many companies opt for the ATEX version even if an Ex-zone is not mandatory at the moment, in order to be prepared for future changes.
