Aspiratsiooni torustik - Elister

Aspiration piping

Aspiration ducting is the backbone of any effective dust and debris removal system - it is the ducting that ensures air flows from each treatment point to the filter in an orderly and energy efficient manner. Elister measures, calculates, designs and installs aspiration ducting solutions for woodworking companies throughout Estonia.

How is aspiration piping designed?

Good aspiration piping is based on accurate calculation of air volumes and pressures. Before starting the project, we map the suction requirements of all operating points, calculate the pipe diameters, branching and ensure that the fan can service the entire system. The design is always based on 3D drawings, which give a clear overview of the entire ductwork before installation.

  • Mapping of air volumes - the suction demand of each working point is precisely determined
  • Pressure and resistance calculations - the total pipe resistance is calculated to select the fan capacity.
  • 3D design - full 3D drawing before installation
  • Suitable material - steel, stainless steel or spiral tube as required
  • Installation and tuning - our team installs, tunes and tests the system.

For existing systems, we first carry out an audit: measuring actual airflows, identifying bottlenecks and proposing concrete solutions. If necessary, we rebuild the piping or extend it to new operating points.

Frequently asked questions

What material are the aspiration pipes made of?

Most industrial aspiration pipes are made of galvanised steel in the form of a smooth-bore pipe. In wet or chemically aggressive environments, stainless steel piping is used. The choice of material depends on the substance to be transported, the temperature and the working environment.

How do I know if the existing plumbing is powerful enough?

The best way is to measure - using an anemometer or Pitot tube to measure actual air velocities and flow rates. If the suction capacity is not sufficient, it could be due to excessive pipe obstruction, incorrectly set valves, leaks or an underpowered fan. Elister performs such diagnostics on a regular basis.

Can you also install in an existing production hall?

Yes, retrofit installation is our normal work. We work with your production schedule to minimise downtime. If necessary, we will schedule the installation for weekends or production downtime.
