The Barrus timber industry is located among the forests of Võrumaa in Verijärvi. Elevandi's self-confidence and hard work have made Barrus a market leader in the field of glued laminated timber components throughout Europe.

Client need

Barrus approached us to adapt and extend an air humidification system previously installed in their large warehouse. Positive experience with the system's operation and results gave us the confidence to extend this approach to new premises.

In a new three-zone warehouse, the client wanted to ensure a stable and high humidity level in each zone separated by curtains or doors 80%RH.

Such a system is essential to keep the wet sawn timber to be stored in optimum conditions before it is sent to the dryer to avoid premature drying.

If the temperature in the pipework is close to the freezing point - there is no need to switch anything on separately.

Solution

We set about designing a plan that would meet the client's requirements, including customized irrigation zones that would allow for spraying primarily from the top down, thus creating an even layer of moisture in each storage area. The location of the control system was chosen by the client for the interior of the building, which ensured easy access and efficient monitoring of the system.

Our solution ensures that the moisture level does not drop below 80%, meeting the customer's need to keep the material moist before it enters the dryer. The pipework is insulated against the winter cold and equipped with an automatic heating cable that is activated immediately when the temperature in the pipework is close to the freezing point - no need to switch anything on separately.
