The 60° angle instrument is designed to measure all kinds of surfaces, which makes it the most common. For measuring high gloss surfaces, the best angle is 20°, and for matt surfaces the best angle is 85°.
So, if you need to measure all the different surface dimensions, the most accurate result is obtained with a 20°/60°/85° angle.
