Elcometer thickness gauges

The correct paint or coating thickness is an important parameter for surface treatment. The strength and durability of the paint surface is based on the correct application of this system, following the specification sheet of the paint manufacturer. Each coat, from the primer to the topcoat and the individual intermediate coats, is precisely defined with minimum and maximum coating thicknesses.

Elcometer devices can be used to check the layer thickness on different surfaces (metal, glass, stone, plastic, wood).

  • Instantly ready to measure - requires no pre-setting and is ready for use immediately.
  • Resistant to solvents, acids, oil, water and dust - Weatherproof
  • Robust, abrasion-resistant measuring probe
  • ElcoMaster integratable plavorm - use different probes according to your needs (layer thickness, surface roughness, environment, material thickness, etc.)
  • Wifi, USB, Bluetooth connections to PosiSoft PC, Mac or smartphone application

Wet layer measuring comb

The wet-layer measuring comb is a hexagonal or octagonal precision measuring comb made of heavy gauge steel. The high quality steel is unaffected by acidic or alkaline elements. Each side of the gauge has a series of grooves cut into it like the teeth of a comb. It is excellent for measuring the thickness of paints, varnishes and gels.

Powder coating comb

This allows the application system to be set up and fine-tuned before the heating process. This, in turn, reduces residues and overspray. Place the comb in the powder and slide the comb along the surface. The measuring points (or teeth) are sharp and allow the powder to flow around them. The thickness of the powder will be between the highest value, where there is a visible drag mark, and the lowest value, where no drag mark has occurred. Note.
