The Elcometer 155 Powder Coating Comb is specifically designed for to measure the thickness of the powder coating before the heating process. This allows fine-tuning of the application system, reducing wastage, residues and overspray - and ensuring a more uniform end result.
Insert the comb into the powder and glide along the surface - sharp teeth let the powder flow around them, without removing it. The thickness of the powder shall be between the highest tooth with a visible traction mark and the lowest tooth without a traction mark. So you get an immediate and accurate reading.
The powder comb works with various substrates - metal, plastic, wood, glass and more. Manufactured to a tolerance of ±5 microns, or ±0.0002 inches.
