Our paths crossed when the company became interested in 2K dispensing equipment that could be used in conjunction with an automatic finishing line. After gathering the necessary information, it became clear that the right equipment for the job was GRACO ProMix 3KS. As the client had no previous strong experience with GRACO products, it was decided to start with the following first 2KS model, which was extended with a 3K module to keep viscosity under control.

As the colour changes do not happen very often, we added the possibility to change the colour of the topcoat within the pump barrel. This tone change can be done at the same time as the spray line is using the system for priming.

After some use, it became clear that since everything is so automatic, it makes sense to move the material tare to larger containers, whereupon the material vendor will deliver the primer in a ton drum and the base coat in a 200 litre drum and other shades in 20 litre drums. Solvents for thinning and washing will also come in 200 litre containers.

We supplied mixers for the 1000 and 200 litre tanks, a mixer with a lift truck for the surface paint tank and special dispenser kits for the solvent tanks, which allow the solvent to be retrieved just by opening one of the caps to prevent solvent odours from spreading.

For the larger tare we also supplied safety hooks, which are made of plastic and therefore compact and light.

We are pleased to see that more and more companies in the wood sector are starting to invest in multi-component equipment, and that this is no longer just the domain of the metal industry. We are also pleased to see that this GRACO advanced flagship for dosing multicomponent materials is already in use in six companies in Estonia.
