KALLA FURNITURE, A FURNITURE MANUFACTURER WITH A 30-YEAR HISTORY, HAS EXPANDED ITS PRODUCTION!

Kalla Furniture is Öige a company with a long history in Saaremaa, specialising in the manufacture of custom-made furniture. Kalla Furniture's products can be found from Vienna to Vilsand, and their greatest asset is the flexible production process to which the Elister team was able to contribute.

In the summer of 2022, we competed for a finishing room in the extension of the planned production building. We are pleased to say that we were the best bidder in the eyes of Kalla Möbli with our bid and we were able to create a fantastic finishing room.

This is not quite the usual finishing room you find at most furniture manufacturers. A large finishing cabin measuring 7 x 4 x 2.5 metres and with an air exchange rate of 20 000 m3/h has been created in Saaremaa.

High air exchange means very good air in the finishing room, but also higher costs to deal with. To keep costs to a minimum, we have used our own automation logic to monitor operator activity. When the job is in progress, the spray is 'full speed', but when no more solvent vapours are detected and the operator stops spraying (we use compressed air control), the automation puts the unit into a second and more economical mode. In any case, Mr. Robert Pajussaar, the manager of Kalla Furniture, is first of all satisfied that the energy consumption has remained within the same limits as usual, and he is very satisfied with the "fan chamber" and the process.

But in a nutshell, it was:

– ATEX ventilation unit with ATEX plate heat exchanger with an air exchange rate of 20 000 m3/h,
- Automation with solvent and compressed air monitoring for the finishing room,
- Remote access to the system so that the production manager can see the equipment in operation and maintenance is just a "click away",
- ATEX LED luminaires to keep the workplace white,
- Paint booth with cleaning hatch and special enclosure, measuring 7 x 4 x 2,5 m.
- Large-surface blow-in panel
