Elister OÜ has installed a state-of-the-art automatic powder coating line in the new production facility of Ampler Bikes, one of Estonia's next potential unicorns, which will help make the company's supply chain significantly faster and more efficient.
Ampler started as a fun side project in 2014, when three of the founders - a professional cyclo-cross rider, an enthusiastic engineer and a bike designer - started experimenting with building an electric bike in the garage of their home.
Since 2016, Ampler has grown from a small start-up to a dedicated company with an international team of almost 100 people and showrooms in all over the world Berlin, Cologne and Tallinn.
Indrek Ester, Project Manager of Elister OÜ, described the beginning of the joint cooperation: "At the beginning of 2021, we got in contact with the company's management, where the solution was to paint bicycle components in Estonia, which would be the next natural growth step for the company and would allow it to make its supply chain significantly more efficient. As the customer did not even know exactly what the technology options were and what kind of technology they would need, we started with a series of meetings to refine the technology, which ended with testing in Gema AG's laboratory."
Ampler Bikes' automatic powder coating line, installed in a separate production hall, is equipped with a motorised conveyor of about 300 metres, where the products are washed by the Danish manufacturer Ampler Bikes. Aabo-ideal in an automatic washing tunnel, dried and baked in a gas-fired combi oven and dyed using state-of-the-art powder dyeing technology from a Swiss manufacturer. Gema. Elister OÜ is the exclusive representative of these brands in Estonia, whose team takes care of the maintenance, spare parts and training of these brands' paint lines.
