Cyclic corrosion test chambers (CCT) or C&W Cyclic Corrosion Cabinet are industrial test facilities designed to provide accurate and repeatable environmental test conditions. They are indispensable for assessing the corrosion resistance of materials, coatings and components in the automotive, electronics, paint, aerospace, military and offshore industries.
Unlike a conventional salt spray test, the CCT chamber allows automatic switching between different test conditions - salt spray, high humidity, dry heat and drying cycles - giving a more realistic simulation of real operating conditions.
C&W CCT chambers are made of corrosion-resistant materials. The reinforced polyester glass lid (Apex series) is resistant to chemicals and temperature fluctuations. The microprocessor controller can hold up to 7 Programme unlimited event log. The brine flow rate is controlled by a variable speed peristaltic pump and flow meter - accurate collection rates, zero nozzle clogging. The cyclic corrosion test is a test method that simulates real environmental conditions alternately: salt spray, high humidity, dry heat and ambient temperature. In contrast to a conventional salt spray test, the CCT provides a more realistic picture of the corrosion behaviour of a material in actual service.
