AS Konesko is a privately owned Estonian company established at the end of 1992, whose main activity was initially the winding of stators for electric motors as a service. In the early years, the company's production activities were based in Tallinn. Today, AS Konesko's main activities are the manufacture of electric shields, electric motors and end carriages for overhead cranes, as well as mechanical engineering outsourcing.

A special new state-of-the-art stator production line has been installed in AS Konesko's new Türi-Allik factory, where the parts coming out of the heating furnace are too hot to be handled immediately, thus prolonging the production process. Elister's team was tasked with finding a solution to this problem so that the parts could be cooled down to the customer's desired temperature within a maximum of one hour. Consideration must be given to the fact that the possible mass of the parts varies and the time required for cooling can vary from product to product.

The challenge was exciting and we thought together about how it would be the most sensible and solid way to complete the initial task by creating a specific solution.

In order to solve the problem, we produced two cooling tunnels with fans for forced cooling, which in turn are connected to the control automation through frequency converters. We measure the surface temperature of the part coming out of the furnace, and using an algorithm, the control automation knows at what frequency the fans are run to ensure that the parts are sufficiently cooled for a given time. Given the fact that the ambient temperature fluctuates in the same way, the temperature of the parts is constantly monitored and the program continuously adjusts the fan speed according to the input information.

We can say that we like these challenges and it was cool to create something different again.
