The glass balls are perfectly round and hard, so they will not damage or wear the substrate. They remove dirt, rust, limescale, etc., securing a beautiful surface. There is no chemical reaction between the glass balls and the materials to be cleaned, as the balls themselves are neutral, making them suitable for almost any application.
Because of their high hardness and angularity, aluminia and silicon carbide are the most effective general purpose abrasives.
