We have completed another very cool project. We have installed a liquid paint line in Saku Metal's new production building, where they paint different openings.

A short summary of the project is as follows:

The movement of details is handled by a semi-automatic conveyor system with a lifting section of up to 500 kg for easy hanging of heavy products.

The drying tunnel part of the conveyor is designed with an automatic pushing mechanism, which can be extended in the future to the whole drying area. The rest of the conveyor is manual, with 20 booms spaced 350 mm apart.

The water-heated ventilation units for the paint room and the drying tunnel are located on the roof of the rooms on a common supporting structure and are heated by an autonomous gas boiler, which we installed in the technical room directly adjacent to the paint room.

The control automation has again been solved based on the customer's needs and following our logical principles with the Siemens touch control panel. From the panel, it is possible to follow the operation of all the work units, the parameters that can be easily modified if necessary, and also alarms with logs informing of system malfunctions.

To ensure safety, solvent sensors have been used in the paint room, drying tunnel and paint warehouse to automatically trigger the ventilation when elevated ppm levels are detected. To ensure light, strong Atex Zone 1 luminaires with glass covers are used, which can be cleaned without worrying about solvent.

The customer was also supplied with two GRACO Merkur 48:1 high pressure paint pumps, which will be used in their work. The painting will be carried out with a G40 RAC gun, using the FFLP nozzles we just mentioned.

In summary, we can say that it was a great project, which was fun to do together with the client. Everything went smoothly and it was a pleasure to be a partner.
