One door manufacturer in Central Estonia decided to take its finishing process to a whole new level. The aim was to introduce an automated finishing solution, but at the same time to create a modern manual finishing area - because in quality door manufacturing, you simply can't do without manual finishing.
Automatic finishing solution chosen MAKOR SPRAY & DRY - M a compact spraying system well suited to the needs of door production, allowing a stable and high quality finish.
The manual finishing booth was completely solved by our Elister team, designing and building the solution according to the production needs of the factory and the working logic of the existing automated line.
At the heart of the finishing solution were GRACO PerformAA series automatic paint spray guns with Merkur series pumps.
The whole system had to be designed, installed and put into operation exactly during the factory's collective holiday. This meant that there was virtually no room for error - every day and every stage had to run according to plan.
In addition, the ventilation was directly connected to the Makor system. The solution detects which device is currently running and adjusts the ventilation modes accordingly.
The result is an energy-efficient, safe and well-functioning finishing environment, which supports production efficiency at every step.

The ventilation was connected directly to the Makori system. The solution recognises which unit is running at any given time - whether it is an automatic finishing line or a manual finishing booth - and adjusts the ventilation modes accordingly.
The result is an energy-efficient system where the ventilation works exactly as much as needed.
The automatic finishing line ensures high productivity in batch production. The manual finishing booth, on the other hand, allows flexibility for special shapes, one-offs or small batches. Together they form a complete finishing solution.

MAKOR SPRAY & DRY - M is a compact and automatic spraying system that ensures a precise and even application of paint without manual operators. The system incorporates automatic door handling with LIFT loading/unloading device and works with 4 spray guns and a 2 L paint tank. Energy-saving automation allows the ventilation to be adapted to the actual load.
GRACO PerformAA series automatic paint spray guns with Merkur series pumps ensure accurate paint consumption and reliable operation even in intensive production. The spray guns are compatible with a wide range of paint materials and are suitable for both aqueous and solvent-based lacquers and paint products.
The ventilation is directly connected to the MAKOR SPRAY & DRY system via automation. The system detects the mode in which the finishing line is currently operating - either the automatic spray line or the manual finishing booth - and adjusts the ventilation mode accordingly. The result is an energy-efficient system where the ventilation runs exactly as needed.
The manual finishing booth allows flexibility to handle special shapes, one-offs or small batches that cannot be handled efficiently on an automatic line. Elister's team designed and built the booth in-house, ensuring optimal LED lighting, ventilation and safety. Together with the automated line, they form a complete finishing solution.
Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) detectors continuously measure the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the air and warn when concentrations approach dangerous levels. Compressed air monitoring ensures that the guns receive a constant pressure, which has a direct impact on paint quality. Both systems are integrated into the overall automation of the finishing line.
A detailed timetable was drawn up for the implementation of the project during the factory's collective holiday, with each stage precisely planned. As production was at a standstill, the Elister team was able to carry out all the work without disruption and to install the equipment in several locations simultaneously. With the support of a precise design and an experienced team, all the equipment was installed, tested and commissioned on time.
